GMG’s 5th Annual Demo Day
GMG’s 5th Annual Demo Day 2018 was a huge success! For the first time ever, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo came together to support the finalists at GMG! The top five teams from around the country came to PlayStation to pitch their games to a panel of industry leaders:
- Anna Sweet, SVP of Business Development at Caffeine
- Shawn Layden, Chairman of Worldwide Studios, PlayStation
- Devon Pritchard, EVP of Business Affairs at Nintendo of America
- Phil Spencer, EVP of Gaming at Microsoft
- Connie Booth, VP of Product Development at PlayStation

Team Mystery Squirrels, from Mountain View, CA won the award for Most Fun! :)

Game Name: Detective Blobfish
A murder has struck and you, Detective Blobfish, must find the murderer! Explore a beach town to find the murderer from three suspects.
Team Valtameri, from San Francisco, CA won the award for Most Artistic game!

Game Name: Kaiyo
Kaiyo is an educational game about the ocean! It’s meant to emphasize how pollution in the ocean is a really big crisis that we have to start fixing as soon as possible in order to save wildlife.
Team ARKS, from San Mateo, CA won the award for Most Original game!

Game Name: Luka
Luka represents the rift in space time, and is caught between universes Alpha and Beta.
Alpha Dr. X wakes up in a hospital with almost complete amnesia. She rummages the hospital looking for clues. She is haunted frequently by a ghost demon child named Luka, Luka is Dr. Xs daughter in the Alpha universe. Beta Dr. X did not have any kids.
Team Sarcastic Shark Clouds, from Seattle, WA won Best Narrative and the 2018 Grand Prize!

Game Name: Shredded Secrets
Shredded Secrets is an emotional journey through four characters and their experiences with school and life. Our game shows how people from different backgrounds can overcome their troubles.

Game Name: The Return
You are a fairy named Averi. After waking up in a forest, you have to escape by solving a series of unique puzzles and finding your way past enemies to your home.
