This year’s games at GMG Demo Day were all exceptional, but what made Shredded Secrets stand out was the depth and maturity with which a group of middle school girls tackled issues like bullying, body positivity, and self confidence in their game.

Shredded Secrets is a story-based platformer that lets you step into the lives of four people at a middle school — Isabella, Taylor, London and Oakley.

Playable Characters from Shredded Secrets. Each team member designed and developed a character in the game!

In Shredded Secrets you will find that while their lives intersect at different points at school, each character has a complex story that unfolds as you travel through their life, face their problems, and help them resolve their problems in meaningful and productive ways.

The game’s tag line is “Be kind; Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle” — by playing as a range of characters, players are not only made to examine this statement, but also shown what healthy and positive resolutions to their problems look like. The girls were adamant about making a game that would help people work through these issues and find solutions for their problems in the best way possible!

It was a truly remarkable presentation, one which left our panel of judges and demo day audience members emotional and inspired. We couldn’t be more proud of this group and are truly honored to be a part of their journey in getting this out into the world!

Team Sarcastic Shark Clouds reaction shots when they found out they had won! ^ ^
